2024 OEM F-150 LED Tail Lights retrofit install on a 21-23

Figured I would make a nice little thread here detailing the recent addition of 2024 OEM LED Tail Lights to my 2022 502A Lariat.

So for my install, I had to swap the BLIS sensors and do a small BCM forscan change.

from what I’ve gathered these are more like the raptor tail lights from the 21-23 model year where the brake and turn are the same unlike stock OEM LEDs which had brake and turn separate.

also, these have the OBS (on board scale) capability which shows up where the reverse lights are

These were a tad bit more expensive than the 21-23 BAP/Tremor tails. Purchased these from CSS Automotive. They sell 21-24 OEM headlights/taillights, steering wheels and a few other OEM items as well as harnesses to make them work. They provided me the forscan changes (though I had to confirm bc I was the first to use these tail lights with OBS)

I am impressed with your ingenuity and first to market with the modernization of your tail lights. But I am not a fan of their design at all. Almost look like they would be more at home with the weird styling of the new tundra.

For that reason I'm out. Lol

I definitely prefer the night render vs day. In fact I like them lit up.

There's something Tron about the unlit day version though, that seems like they are working hard to be a lot more than just a taillight. It makes me want to see them do something that explains.

Ford can be so gutsy one moment, and then completely conservative the next. But one thing for sure is they have convinced me to come to the checkout counter for better than 50 years continuously.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t like the 21-23 OEM tails from the side haha. I actually prefer these though most don’t seem to…yet
Reminds me of how people didn’t like the 15-17 LED tails but liked the 18-20. These look real good at night in my opinion. Nice and bright as well.

Someday Ford will offer taillights without red dye in the lens or a chrome reflector behind a clear lens, I’m not sure it will be this decade, but someday.
