Changing BLIS modules in tail lights (LED to BAP LED)

I changed my Lariat led tail lights today to tremor/bap tail lights. I figured I would show the process of keeping your original BLIS modules and transferring them over to the new tail.
8mm socket for screws to remove lights
Torx 20 to remove BLIS modules. There is a small hole if you will to pull up on to remove the module. It is seated in there with a rubber gasket.

I thought it was fairly straightforward swap process.
Can also use the new modules as is though. It's easy to add VIN number to BLIS module with Forscan.

It is, no need for forscan when you can put your original BLIS modules like I did in the new LED tail lights.

I just ordered a set of the Tremor tails w/BLIS and harness to replace my XLT 302a Halogens w/BLIS. I was under the impression I would just use the new BLIS that came with the tremor tails. I know I have to go into forscan to change something due to halogen to led….but is there something I’m missing with BLIS/vin info?

You will want to swap your existing BLIS modules over to the new lights to prevent DTC's. It's a little more involved than the process above, but just pay attention to the orientation and the wire routing and you will be fine.
