This made me have to look it up...2021 LARIAT 3.5 EB SCREW 4x4 Orange County CA; thru Mercury it's $507 / 6mo's. - I am over 50 tho, but that's a hell of a difference for that one data point, AND my vehicle has a higher replacement cost I'm sure. So I believe that rate you have is crazy high, unless we're missing something meaningful. You are looking at just the Truck, right?

Insurance for my 2021 is double what I paid for my 2011. I'm not thrilled about it.

I could bounce around insurance companies as many people do but I'm not sure that will save me anything.

This is just for the truck. We also have an Altima and a 2021 Ford bronco, which combined cost the same as just the truck alone. Allstate claims that it’s due to the poor safety rating and high cost of replacement parts. In terms of demographics my wife and i have clean records no tickets, accidents, etc. Both late 20s college educated, im a navy pilot shes an engineer. Truly appalling that they gave us that quote. We will definitely check out mercury and Geico. How is the service with mercury? Im from the east coast and have never heard of them.

You've never heard of them because no competitors will mention them in their "comparison" commercials. When I used to call to shop rates, the people wouldn't waste either of our time to work up a quote. Mercury is very picky, but based on your resume above, I'd insure you myself. Lol However, industry wide, there is an insurance market thing going on in CA (of course, another "thing" - which may have improved recently btw). Other than me sending them money every year, I've had limited need for their help last 20 years, but it was great working with them when I did. (companies, systems, bureaucracy's, etc., change over time, so who knows).

21 F150 XLT and a 23 F250 Lariat Diesel 7700 per year. Clean driving records, no claims, good Fico. We are in our 60’s. Agent says it’s like being under 25 again. They think old people are a risk. I fly an airliner all over the world and teach performance driving, but I’m a risk.

Shop around!

Can't hurt to go looking elsewhere even if it is only for your auto insurance. I have family older than you paying less for insurance than I do.
