QUESTION.
Has anyone come up with a solid way to STREAM VIDEO from your mobile device to the in dash display?

I ran across this add, but don't have a clue if it really works or not.
Supposedly it works via the CARPLAY interface.

So I have managed to find a question that not one single other F150 owner has encountered yet?

Am I really the ONLY PERSON that wants to use that wonderful screen to STREAM VIDEO when parked or for the passenger while driving.

REALLY??

If you have an Android device, you can use Android Auto Apps Downloader.

I use this, the app you'll want is called CarStream. Android Mirror works well, too. It'll let you mirror your phone screen to your car's screen.

I am honestly a little surprised here.
I "assumed", WRONGLY, that this would be a No-Brainer and plenty of other owners would have already gone down this road.

When I am driving my wife ALWAYS has her phone playing something or another on her screen.
Seemed obvious to me the solution was to let her stream that content to a much nicer screen to look at.

This little "Magic Box" appears to be a solution.
But I am VERY hesitant to spend that money without first talking to some others that have already tested and verified it actually WORKS first hand!

Maybe just buy the wife a nice tablet and use a hotspot. I'm pretty sure playing videos that are visible to the driver falls under Idaho's "distracted driver" laws. "Honestly officer, I wasn't watching...my wife is a big NASCAR fan" won't get you out of a ticket. Have an accident and those "hurt in an accident" TV lawyers will have a field day.

That law goes WAY BEYOND streaming video to ANYTHING WHATSOEVER that can cause you to be "Inattentive" and leading to a vehicle incident.

If I'm driving I going to listen to music. If passengers want to watch shows then they can put on some headphones and bust out a phone or tablet. I think listening to shows and not watching would get annoying. Just me though.

As for me, if I am driving, I almost always have a BOOK ON TAPE running via Audible.
