Does anyone use the auto hold function as a workaround to never having the auto start/stop automatically on? Just started using auto hold today and loved that auto start/stop doesn’t turn on.

Auto stop start does turn on with auto hold. You just haven't satisfied the conditions yet.

It's funny we have to have a piece of electronics that recognizes and disables another piece of electronics we can't just disable (without a tune perhaps).
It's beyond me the whole auto stop tech, I have never seen where it actually saves much fuel. My 3.5 EB (2018 and 2021) has also never been even close to what's advertised economy-wise, so why bother with a minimal amount with the Auto Stop? IMHO

$99.00?
How much to replace your warn out starter?!!

I'll pay for the fuel.
Apparently they now use a starter that is specifically designed for the repeated start/stop. It will last as far as I can tell.

I came from a 2018 that had Auto Stop, and the biggest issue was when you were stopped at a light and that fraction of a second from releasing the brake to hitting the gas was noticeable and sucked. Prior to installing the Autostop Eliminator on that truck, I didn’t notice any mechanical issues, and thought the truck handled the process well, I just hated that slight lag.

I find this whole thing very fascinating. I personally don't mind it so far. Granted I haven't driven my own F-150 all that much yet, but the rental that my fiancé and I had while we were in Florida had this feature and it didn't bother me at all. She however absolutely hated it with a passion.

I'm surprised at how polarizing this is.

Auto Start/Stop bugs me a bit, but not enough for me to get the eliminator...at least not yet.

Fuse for auto start stop is located in slot 210 under hood passenger side near fire wall Going to pull it and see if this disables the function.

I figure the hate expands when you have an aftermarket exhaust. That constant stopping and startup with exhaust would get annoying for sure.

What about losing oil pressure when the engine cuts out waiting at a light? Most people will accelerate as soon as the engine turns back on. Isn't this bad for longevity?
