Just finished installing a Gentex factory style digital rearview mirror. Something Ford should already be doing! The field of view is great! No more headrest views! Camera is mounted inside on the slider . When slide is open image just slightly shifts, but does get darker due to 2 layers of tint but very acceptable. Highly recommend!

I just put an ARE topper on my truck and next up is a Wolfbox 900 for the dash cam and digital rearview mirror. IMO every truck with a rear camera should have this digital rearview feature.

I think I am going to have to mount the rear camera on the roof of the topper. The back glass is very dark so I might have to drill into the topper to mount that camera.

Very nice job you did there.

This looks amazing…I’ve been looking for a frameless mirror, not to mention the cool camera capabilities built in...

Does this integrate with Ford’s wiring? My hangup has been finding a mirror that talks to the driver side mirror for auto-dimming function as I thought those two were connected.

Do you mind sharing a link? 😁

Can you also view your back up camera as advertised, circled in red below?

THe wiring shows to have a exterior Mirror control for auto dim. My bet is it would work with the OEM auto Dim mirror.

I had an Escalade with digital mirror and didn’t like it at all. Reason being, my eyes felt like a camera trying to auto focus and can’t. Maybe has to do with my age since I’m over 50….or maybe grandma was right in saying “if you don’t stop playing with it you’ll go blind”. Either way, when looking at road then the digital review mirror then back to road, I could feel my eyes trying to refocus from one to the other. I don’t have that issue with a mirror. Any optometrists in the house to offer an explanation?

$849. That’s a little spendy! What would be awesome is being able to tap into the coax camera on the tailgate.

I have them on both GMC and Camaro. I hope to never buy a vehicle without now. The GM's have a light sensor that adjusts the brightness at night. Two things. I can't view my dog in the back seat to see what he's up to and it washes out in full sun when the Camaro's top is down which requires me to flip it back to the old fashioned mirror. By the way, I'm 72 and no eyesight/focusing issues with the mirror.

The website shows an outstanding setup with side cameras too. I'll have to dig in to see if there are installers around or if this is strickly a DYI setup.

Looks great.

I almost posted, “doesn’t that big rear camera block your view a bit and bother you when you look in your rearview mirror?”

Yeah.

Let me know if anyone needs a rocket designed.

Not an optometrist but I am older than you and can corroborate that age is probably the primary factor. It definitely takes me longer (only seconds but more than at an earlier age) to focus on controls or different mirrors when I shift my eyes off the road in front of me. It's normal, and my eyes aren't bad.

I'm more conscientious about not playing with controls.
