Hey guys, pulling my CAT 390 DL through the Rockies. Anyone do this with their F-150? Dry weight is 418,000 pounds plus a 25,000 pound trailer. Total load is 443,000 pounds with about 100,000 pound tongue weight. I have a 24” lift with 44” mud tires and 3.15 highway gears. I read the factory tow guide and I KNOW IM WITHIN THE LIMITS. Anyone else run this setup? I’m thinking maybe a gen-y weight distribution hitch. No *asshole answers!!!!

Not a big deal, but make sure that you use a 2-5/8" ball. 2" can't handle that.

Even in those monster trailers the weight on the drives won't exceed 20k/axle.

Know there are several people on here who do that daily no problems. Just remember In order to be safe you need to subtract 10% for the lift. 443,000 - 10% so 250,400lbs. Well within limits, no anal answers needed!

What aren't you pulling a boat behind the trailer as well? You are leaving a bit on the table here.

Lock out 10th gear to stay out of the turbos and get better mileage. Maybe add RAS to stop some of that rear end sag

I would just like an hour of play time in the 390. I never get to run excavators that size these days.

With 44” tires and according to inflation tables you should be at about 220 psi for the load. If it rides too rough I’d probably drop it down to about 37 psi
