Bumping this to the top in case it helps someone else. - They tested the APIM it tested fine. Ended up doing updates as my truck was behind and replacing the battery. So far this has resolved the issue.
I imagine the truck was behind on updates due to the battery not holding charge.
They...
Recently the Main Sync Screen in my 2022 displays the Ford logo on startup and then goes totally black. My phone still pairs via Android Auto, but I cant control anything else via the screen.
I have tried the dimming settings to see if that was the issue and have not had any luck.
I have a...
So admittedly I am basing this on a very half hearted amazon search, but I have to believe its pretty representative. A 16oz Bottle of octane booster that may or may not actually work is around $10.
The 50 Cent difference assuming your take was 100% empty would be $18.
Just buy the 93 octane...
Sort of true, the intercooler does cool the compressed intake charge, but only to a point. Starting with a colder intake temp is always better. Colder air is denser, which aids in combustion and higher power output.
It's as not as noticeable in my F150, but in my WRX the first cold fall...
This. We are in a golden age of horsepower. Manufactures are fighting to get every bit of power they can so they can stay competitive and one up the competition. This isnt 1995, the stock intake is well designed. I cant imagine you will see much of a change with an aftermarket other than in your...
10-15hp increase on a dyno or 10-15hp increase according to the marketing on the box?
Can you explain how changing out an intake will increase the amount of boost produced by the turbos? Curious as I had not heard of anything like that before.
So got the truck back. Dealer had it about 4 hours. They replaced both axels. Must have been a NASCAR pit crew working today.
For those curious new part numbers are
ML3Z-4234-H
ML3Z-4234-J
For some reason they also replaced 4 Caliper Bolts - W718680-S439?
We will see how long these go...
Dropped my F150 off this AM. It was funny, when I setup the appointment I told the service advisor I had a loud squeaking from the rear end and had found the bolt broken off in the wheel.
When I dropped it off she said "So you have a squeaking and a bolt backed out?" I handed her the sheared...
Welp add me to the list. Thought i may have gotten lucky. Went on a quick run up to the grocery store and heard a squeak from the passenger rear.
17500 miles on a 2022 3.5 max tow
I may be behind, I just received an official recall for the Max Tow / PowerBoost Axle bolt failure. Parts / Solution promised Q2 2024. Happy to see Ford is addressing this, not sure how I missed what must have been a giant thread here.
How are we all feeling about it?
Is the Toy in the Trailer? Is the truck pulling it?
We can't figure this out for you. We can help but you need to give information like the trailer weight and trailer tongue weight.
You are most likley going to be over several weight ratings on the truck, but need numbers to figure that.
Not sure what you are asking. The hitch on the F150 is rated to a tongue weight of 500lbs if you are not using weight distrobuion 1,400lb if you are.
Do you know the tongue weight of the toy hauler you are looking to pull when its loaded up? Knowing that weight is important to every other...
There are multiple ratings on the hitch, its carrying capacity and its pulling capacity. Should be a sticker like this on it. There is way you will be under the 1,400 tongue weight on a 10,000lb toy hauler.
Don't even have to go this far. The F150 hitch isn't rated for the tongue weight he is talking about. 10k figure 15% on the hitch he is over limits already.
Know there are several people on here who do that daily no problems. Just remember In order to be safe you need to subtract 10% for the lift. 443,000 - 10% so 250,400lbs. Well within limits, no anal answers needed!
Have you run the numbers? You may be under max towing but there is no way you are under payload. I have no idea how you figure the super spring deleted 10% of your towing capacity, but subtracting 10% from 13500 is not 12500 so not sure what numbers you have run but I would assume they are off...
