Seems tesla coordinated with goodyear to make what is essentially a 35 x 11.5 20 in the D load range. Not sure when/if these will be available from retailers, but it's nice to see a lighter tire in this size potentially end up an option.
Pure speculation but these should be the lightest of this tire class which is well into high 60lb+ range. Tesla is at the top of the efficiency in their EVs and to get a better than lightning range with a smaller battery in a heavier platform running 35's natively vs lightning's tires that basically are factory F150 grade stuff, should translate to a noticeably better driving experience.
Ford's LT tires they use on the HDPP are also D rated tires which is just something you don't see anywhere. Try to find D rated tires in the larger sizes and they're just not there.
