Fuel filler door - cord release

4k miles in and here's where the pull-cable on my PB currently resides:

The cable hangs freely...coincidently close to the hole into the wheel well.

It's not poking into the wheel well like the photo on this thread: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/whats-this.4341/

This makes more sense. I'll have to crawl under there and thread it out of the wheel well. Must have got unlucky and it bounced into the hole during wash

I know this is an old thread but I had the same issue on mine.


I tucked it up, but I believe it will fall out again. Anyone figure out where it's supposed to go? Do we even need it, there is an emergancy open tool behind the rear seat!?

Why not add a magnet to the bottom of the string and stick it to something.

I pulled this earlier not knowing what it was, and now my fuel door won't secure. Any suggestions on what to do?
