I have had both, and have loved both. There are pros and cons to both, and on the con side, there is nothing that is outrageously bad.

The main advantage to the AMP product is speed of deployment - it is practically "instant". The downside is that even though it hides itself pretty well, you can still see it. The factory Ford product is invisible, but takes an additional step (no pun!) or two to deploy.

I have the factory step in the tailgate and it is great. On my previous truck I had the AMP step and loved that too. In fact I am adding one to the F-150 so I have both. AMP is great for quick deployment and stow away. The factory step is great for more long term useage. If you have to get up and down in the bed 3 or 4 times then nothing beats that factory step.
