Anyone Done PDR on a 150?

A few weeks back we had a little storm blow through and a tree branch made a glancing blow to my rear door.

I went through the standard route of insurance agent -> visit body shop to get estimate. This has started a 6 week ordeal, because the body shop advised me to find a good "Paintless Dent Removal" vendor since the damage was minor.

Several phone calls/emails/pictures sent and NO callbacks/follow-through, it looks as though the PDR guys won't touch it. Standard body shop is going to quote me about $1200 and they'll need it for a few days.

All for a door ding. For those that have done PDR, is this possible for a guy with a little bit of patience and some PDR tools....to pull out this dent?

I have had great experience with PDR on several vehicles, however have not had anything done on the F150 or any aluminum panel. Where are you located? I can share the contact here in Northern Delaware.

Why do these things always happen at a crease? I suspect they can get most of it out but the crease may be problematic. At least that is my experience.

I had a small door ding a little smaller than a dime fixed using PDR. It took the guy only about 20 minutes and I couldn't even tell where it was when he was done. Cost me $150 which was his minimum for an aluminum panel, but I was happy to pay that for how it turned out. The best part about it was that he came to my house and did it in my garage. I can give you his info but PA is not exactly right up the road from you.

If the guy looks like this he’ll be able to get it out, otherwise run.

Yea I had a spot done above my front fender was successful can’t even tell it was there. It all depends on the person doing it.

Yes! I had 17k in hail damage on a 2022 with 600 miles on it. PDR took care of 90%. The shop ended up damaging the paint trying to remove the dents and I had to get paint anyway. It's still in the shop now. Then it's off to a different shop for recall number 3.

I will say the stupid aluminum was way worse off than any other vehicle on my street.

Seen some amazing results on YouTube but not with aluminum.

If they can get to it from the inside I expect it to be looking like new. Getting that crease right will be the difficulty.
I'd go to 4-5 different shops and get their opinion on it.
