Yokohama Geolandar G015 LT285/60R20

With only 1,291 miles, removed the Hankook OEMs and got Yokohama Geolandar G015 LT285/60R20 installed today at Discount Tire.

The reason I went with these was this truck will be on pavement 95% of the time except for camping on fire/dirt roads or towing a 6k lb TT half dozen or so times a year. Wanted to keep a smooth on road experience, but LT for towing. Also wanted a slightly AT look and not a street looking tire nor super aggressive tire either.

These tires are 1" taller and 3/4" wider than the stock tires. They raised the truck 1/2". GPS speeds (via Waze) at both 40 and 50mph match speedo exact. They set the air at 45psi and ride just as smooth and quiet as the OEMs. Still running in electric and mileage around town in the 21-22 range, pretty close, but hard to truly tell the impact so far on day one.

Looks great. I think that’s the perfect size for these trucks. I’m assuming no level kit? I was looking at 275/65/20 but the extra width on these look great.

Keep us posted on fuel economy with those tires. They look good on it. I have basically same rig......powerboost Lariat with 20" Hancooks and don't want to destroy mileage with changes but factory tires seem a little too tame for an FX4 package 4x4 truck.

I got 22 on the way back from the grocery tonight. Only about 4 miles, but local roads with 45max mph. Engine was warmed up and spent a good percentage in electric.

Correct, no level. Only 3" rake with a PB and I will be towing, so don't plan to level. I think the pics make it look worse. Hard to tell in person when walking around.

The 285/60 and 275/65 weight about the same, I wanted a little more sidewall, but didn't want to go up to 34.5" and sacrifice MPGs too much more. I thought the 275 looked a little slim. I think the 285/60s are the XXL to the 275/60s XL if that makes sense. They are a little larger proportionally.

I'll also add that I've worked with Tires Plus, Tire Kingdom, Sun Tire, Mavis Tires, and Walmart for tires over the last 15 years since we moved to FL and none of them compare to Discount Tire when it comes to professionalism, cleanliness, attention to detail, and basic customer service. All the other places act like the customer is a burden, it takes them hours when you have an appointment, and they find a way to leave dirt or grease marks inside your vehicle. I was blown away yesterday when they had me in and out in less than 45mins, were customer focused and friendly, and had my truck cleaner when it left compared to when I brought it in. Five stars for Discount Tire.

While many people go with Defender LTX for towing, to me those look like tires off a bus. I wanted a little more aggressive looking tire.

Son in-law runs the Defenders on his F-350 work truck. He has a large off road fuel tank he hauls all the time Plus what ever else. He claims they wear like iron, and has not found a longer lasting tire. He also said don't get to far from the gravel road.

I’m just thinking of going the 18” wheel route and I like that the Defenders are 33 in diameter. I do like the looks of those Yokes those!!

You can get these as 33s on 18s if you wanted. If you prefer the Defenders, you have to go with what you like.

This is one of the set-up’s I’ve been thinking of going with, and it looks great!

My worry is going to an LT tire.

Can you say that you had zero added harshness or performance loss going to a stiffer/heavier/taller LT tire?
