Work surface

If anyone has the XL version on the bench seat option, does it open up to a storage compartment? Or does it just slide forward and swivel?
I know the XL bench version without the work surface is just an armrest. Such a waste of space, should’ve just let the fine folks have that storage compartment.

There seems to be (2) Threads regarding the F150 work center. I've looked everywhere myself for the answers, but decided to address my issue straight up. I gave the 2021 XL with 'adjustable work center' (pics attached. I like the station but it isn't always practical for ordinary day-to-day driving. I can adjust the tabletop to give me cupholders and armrest, but the armrest is solid, hard plastic. I took my truck to a custom canvas and auto upholstery shop. He made me this leather armrest (molded specifically to exactly fit) onto the work top. $120
