Hard to believe that Ford would let their fold out work surface not be available right away. They are pushing it so hard as one of their best new features.

Unless they are having a quality issue with the work surface, or maybe everyone is ordering them with their new trucks, I can't see it being a huge issue getting them. Maybe a few weeks delay.

If this is going to take some until mid 2021 to rectify, than that is extremely disappointing.

Who knows.

January historically has been “mid year” as far as vehicle production

my 66 ElCamino has a frame date of 7-6-66
Actual production would have happened the following week.
The VIN sequence # is less than 1500 units from the last number from that plant that year.
The sequence does not follow models
It is the sequential order intended for units for that line
Sedan, convert, wagon pickup (ElCamino), hardtop

so January is close to mid year
Heh heh heh

Maybe Grainger Ford can comment to the extend of the delay of the work surface?

With the bench seat, apparently it is designed to swivel too. It only folds forward on the console mounted ones.
Did you hear if that is the work surface, or is that just standard on the bench? I thought I saw somewhere else on this site that this swivel feature is a standard feature on the bench.

I don’t know if it is standard but the swivel is the one you get on a bench.

I have not seen it in person, but videos and photos on this site the surface on the bench style seat also swivels. It appears that it is standard.

I'll trade someone that has a regular bench console for my work surface one.

Haha ouch what puts you off about it?
I have no use for it. I don't work out of my truck, and also the hard plastic feel on your elbow and arm while driving leaves more to be desired lol

Oh interesting, I though the foldy version gets the leather/soft touch surface. I didn't get that but tbh I woulda mostly ate off of it and get crumbs everywhere

It does. It isn't hard and you can't really tell it folds out unless you do it.
