I got a flat key, what is it used for? Haven’t found it in the manual. Thanks.

I'm not sure which key you mean, but I believe its to lower the spare tire (key socket next to hitch) or to unlock door in the event of a dead battery or to lock the back seat in the down position. If equipped the lock is on the panel near the floor when you first open the door.I got a flat key, what is it used for? Haven’t found it in the manual. Thanks.

Amazing that I can’t put it on a key ring then. I wonder if I can copy it.I'm not sure which key you mean, but I believe its to lower the spare tire (key socket next to hitch) or to unlock door in the event of a dead battery or to lock the back seat in the down position. It was in the packet of paperwork.Where did you find this flat key?
I discovered that you need the flat key to access the spare tire access hole to the right of the rear license plate. You need to remove the lock cylinder to lower the rear tire.I got a flat key, what is it used for? Haven’t found it in the manual. Thanks.
It will also work for the console lock.I discovered that you need the flat key to access the spare tire access hole to the right of the rear license plate. You need to remove the lock cylinder to lower the rear tire.
Ok I'll have to look for mineIt was in the packet of paperwork.
I have confirmed that it is the same laser cut as the keys in the fob so it’s a spare for that.
Mine was on the shelf on top of the dashboard where you'd never ever see it, unless you looked through the windshield or something. I found it entirely by accident when exploring my new truck I swept my hand over the dashboard ... "WTF is this...?"Ok I'll have to look for mine
I had the same reaction. Only mine was in the bottom cubby of the drivers door panelMine was on the shelf on top of the dashboard where you'd never ever see it, unless you looked through the windshield or something.
