What’s this key thing for ?

Picked up my F150 from Granger Friday. Getting wheels installed on Monday, love this truck so far …

Anyway.
About mid way through Nebraska, I noticed this key in the cup holder. Don't want to bug Chip on a Sunday , so I thought I’d ask the community.

Also, since I’m posting. I noticed this paper in the glovebox. I’m not missing anything am I?

Door, glove box, console, rear under seat storage. Basically anything that requires a key to lock/unlock.

I found one in my truck as well. I think it is a spare for people able to get into the truck and move it. I suspect the key fobs are locked in the trucks when sitting in Ford's lot before going out to the dealers. Mine was for my truck.

The paper looks like a chip hold until the control was installed or you would have no AC or heat.

Loan it to anyone you want to have access inside your truck but not drive it. (e.g. to coworker: "your (whatever) is in my truck, leave this key in the cupholder and lock the door when you get it").

IMO it's also easier to use than the key in your fob for removing the locking-plug over the spare-tire crank access hole.

Back bumper right side under the black cap oppisite the trailer connector, key for your spare tire release.
