I am putting a small suspension compressor in the truck. What does anyone think about using the battery under the rear seat to power it? The compressor will hardly ever run and it seems the easiest option. There is so much crap in the way under the vehicle to run wires. Not saying it can't be done.

What battery? The hybrid battery? I would not try tapping it directly. It could be dangerous as it is high voltage DC.

Are you talking about the inverter for the ProPower?
No it's a little battery for continuous power. When you start truck it keeps all the other stuff powered momentarily. It's about size of lawnmower battery. It is always on also.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Have you found an answer yet or tried wiring to it?

I just did it. I have the airlift wireless compressor running off it. Works great going on six months. I don't know that I would tap into it for anything that causes a big draw but for my application it worked fine.

Thanks man, that's Awesome!
I'm going to do the same for my ARB onboard compressor. I use it to keep my trailer tires topped off.

How the heck does the cover come off that box?

That's a "Keep Alive" battery for limited items such as the truck's computer controls. You can power the compressor off of other stuff that runs when the engine is on...

Thanks for the reply. I understand what the battery is for, my question is how do I remove the plastic cover to access it? I didn't see any clips... Maybe I need new glasses, lol.
