Thank you for sharing. I just received a recall notice yesterday relating to body insulators and possible damage to the driveshaft. Honestly, having to buy back vehicles is probably the only way they actually do anything.

Feb 9- still waiting to get back into the Second Dealership. This will be the third repair attempt. Appt schedule for 2/21.

FIRST DEALER: can’t get me in either. Said their transmission specialist quit again:oops:
They did finally provide the paperwork from their repair attempt. They reference TSB 21-2434. (See below).

Regardless their attempt did not resolve the problem.

Have been driving a substantial amount the past two weeks, shudder is now more pronounced and steadily getting worse. I’ve had Ford trucks for almost 20 years so not a hater, but fellow owners I’m sincerely concerned with the lack of service and severity of the issue. Waiting a month between service appointments is just and additional headache fueling the frustration
The biggest issue is dealerships are worthless. If the computer doesn't tell them what is wrong they have no idea what to do. We are NOT dealing with mechanics who have vast knowledge of cars like in the past, we are dealing with mechanics that read a computer and if the computer tells them to replace one lug nut, they can accomplish that task with about a 50/50 success rate.

I got a great deal on my truck, I went through the buyback process and came out with something, so I am sitting really good with my truck financially right now so just riding it out until the warranty is up and hoping at some point Ford finds a fix for this shutter. My truck was in the dealer for other issues 6 times in the first 10k miles, not wasting my time with a bunch of incompetent mechanics again until I know there is a fix.

I'm in the same situation as you. I went through the buyback process and got an extended warranty for all of the back and forth to the dealer. I'll ride that out and if there is no fix by then I'll go with a different brand at that point.
A little update on my shuddering, I've been towing a 12' enclosed hybrid snowmobile trailer lately. My truck shudders pretty hard in tow/haul mode even when the RPMs are in excess of 2k-2.5k.

Having the same issues. I took my truck to Ford after waiting a month and 1/2 to get in. They performed a software update TSB-21-2407. This update did smooth out the skipping of second gear. Unfortunately it did nothing to address the transmission shutter while on the highway, both when I am in 10 gear and I hit the accelerator to pass or when I hit an over pass on cruise control. The shuttering is so obvious that my little nephew looked at me like the truck was going to blow up. Do you have any recommendations at this point? I am not willing to have to shift manually when I'm on the highway. These trucks have a serious transmission issue that needs to be resolved.

To my knowledge there haven't been any fixes reported yet (at least in the 13 pages of this thread). The only thing that has helped my truck has been to lockout gears 8-10 while not on the highway. That was the recommendation from a Ford Engineer "for a more comfortable ride".... I don't agree with their assessment at all of this being normal

I agree 100%. We have to manually downshift? Whoever heard of such a thing? After waiting almost 2 months to get my truck looked at, I get there and they tell me that they don't have a tranmission tech! What?!! At a Ford dealer? If I would have known Ford was in the death spiral I definitely would have looked elsewhere.

Yeah I purchased an extended warranty when I bought the truck, not through the dealer but ford settled my buy back (went through a lawyer) I was happy with the offer.

Not good news about tow mode. I'm going next week to get an 12ft enclosed trailer for my son's quarter midget car. Will be my first tow with this thing.

Dadofjax and Bullett- did you receive new trucks or did you just receive an extended warranty? Just curious

I recieved a settlement my lawyer called it a cash and keep offer.

Mine was maiy for a faulty front camera that took 6 months and about 6 dealer visits to finally fix and not due to the shudder.

Truck being towed to dealer today. Started truck to drive to work this morning and the truck felt like it was running down a few cylinders, engine was really sputtering, it eventually shut off and gave the message "Stop Safely Now". (See video below it eventually just shuts down)

Truck was supposed to go in for 3rd repair attempt on transmission on 2/21/2022, looks like it'll get there a week early (via a tow truck) with an engine problem to add to the pile.

Also noticed I received a text message on the Ford App stating "Pro Power Onboard unavailable. Reset the system using the SYNC screen" That message happened at the same time the truck started but shut down.

I'm done with this truck.

FROM BAD TO WORSE TODAY

Called the dealer and let them know my truck would be towed to them a week early with a new issue engine issue

Received a call back from the Service Advisor stating

(1) They could not provide a rental until the new issue is officially diagnosed
(2) They are so far behind on work that he couldnt give me a date when they can look at the engine issue to diagnose it....
(3) AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF- the appointment that I scheduled for 2/21/2022 to have the transmission looked at for a 3rd time can not be honored and will be another couple of weeks before they can look at it because they are too busy. (Really the 4th visit for the transmission because the first time they sent me away without looking at truck because they didnt have a tech and the truck didnt have 5k miles on it yet)

I am truly at a loss right now. I literally have a $65k piece of metal and rubber sitting in my driveway with no one to repair it...Lemon Law time ?? YEP

I would recommend calling around to some lawyers in your area. It was worth it for me. I got so sick of dealing with Ford.
