My 2021 F150 uses a fair bit of (some kind of) plastic, especially trimming out the top of the bed sides, the frontal area, and here and there elsewhere. White splotches appear randomly on these pieces and the few products I've tried don't work well. I'd welcome suggestions on how to keep the 'black pieces black'. Things for sharing your experiences.

I use Chemical Guys VRP. Works great.

I've had good results with 303 aerospace protectant over the years.

Every manufacturer keeps using that cheap plastic crap and it keeps fading. I havent seen a way to keep that from happening

I've used 303 for a mix of boat and RV purposes...but IME it's value is to serve as a UV blocker. Restoring whited spots back to black isn't its 'thing', I would expect. Eskram, has your experience been different?

Correct, it's more of a preventative vs restorative product. It seems to help it from happening in the first place. I do recall using something called Back to Black years ago on my Subaru that worked ok, but I did have to reapply to keep it that way.

Best are products specifically for black trim, not just protectants. Have had success with Mother's Back to Black.

But...nothing lasts forever.

Turn to your boy Project Farm when in doubt:
Cerakote for the win- unless you are averse to the shiny finish I guess! That was pretty impressive….

I used carpro cquartz dlux plastic and wheel coating. Initially did half the bed and the other half with 303. the dlux side stayed black but the 303 side needed new applications. Went ahead and did all the trim.

This pic is from today, coated the trim back in May 22. Only washed it since then, Truck sits outside.
