This has been a low-level problem since the 14th gen was introduced. My '21 PB Lariat has it infrequently. Like most of you, I devised a workaround. There is a safety pin somewhere in the shifter mechanism that will not allow shifter movement under certain conditions, like brake not...
Don't take many long trips with our '21 Powerboost, but Friday we went on a trip to the next state and used Adaptive Cruise, and this icon showed up in the dash. We also have a '22 Mach E with Bluecruise, and this looks very much like those icons. Steering wheel icon, picture of truck with...
My 2021 PB doesn't get driven daily, and I see a cluster of battery problem posts, so I am wondering if a battery tender would be good prevention. A PB has two LV batteries, one under the rear seat, both are AGM, yes? Wise to put a tender on both individually? Santa may be bringing me a NOCO...
Got it to work, amazingly. Mounted the yaw sensor to the left front vertical wall of the trailer. Added a new trailer, and selected 'conventional' instead of 'gooseneck.' Took it to a parking lot to calibrate, punched the button, drove straight, turned once, and bingo, calibrated! Much...
Yes, I am aware of all this, but I know I saw a post or two somewhere that it can be hacked to work, however the posts were long ago, and now lost to time.
The yaw sensor supplied with a Super Duty is the same, the camera positions are probably different, but perhaps when I add a trailer if I...
After 18 months, my truck got the OTA update to use stickers for Pro Trailer Backup Assist, so I now want to move my yaw sensor to my gooseneck horse trailer. Anybody use theirs with a gooseneck? How did it go? Anything I should know?
Called my dealer last week and scheduled an appointment to get the update to clear the recall, and today FordPass pops up with a pending update. Pressed Update Now, and got the recall update OTA. Another one bites the dust
I realize this is a serious problem, recalls by definition are, but this is both sad and ironic that software in 2022 still relies on what is known as the "Windows '97 fix" - shut it down, wait, start up again and hope. Really? And then I listen to predictors/fururists getting dreamy-eyed...
This is great to hear, but raises questions - if the correct software update is available to a dealer in NC, shouldn't it be available to all dealers? And if some owners are getting old or incorrect versions, is that due to technician error - picking the wrong update to install?
Thanks for the clarifications, but I still have the question of how do I know my truck has the proper update if I don't have FDRS or Forscan or whatever? Trust the dealer?
This thread is confusing. The posts that are themed, "I did it myself," are probably helpful to that crowd, but how about us poor slobs who have to rely on a dealer to update the module software? This thread has said two things that are useful: the update is not available yet and make sure the...
Granted, buying a car is changing, and my Shop the Dealer First advice is directed at those who will be ordering online. You get to choose your dealer when placing the order, so like you did, people should ensure the dealer is worthy of your business. The old model of shopping inventory is...
So many posts concerning dealers that seem greedy, incompetent, or just plain lazy. Here’s a counterpoint story. Been buying Fords for nearly ten years now, and have gone through three dealers, mainly due to poor communication.
Short backstory. My 2013 F-350 Super Duty 6.7 suffered a DEF...
