Where this is going is that Ford appears to be prepping the trucks for the next major round of OTA updates— Power-Up 3.X.X. The update posted above modifies the GWM. That update unlocks a small update to the APIM which should follow shortly. The upcoming 3.X.X substantive updates can be found on the NHTSA website under manufacturer communications. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10217136-0001.pdf. Whether everything described in the document Ford filed with NHTSA applies to the F-150, the Lightning, or both is unclear but the document was filed in the non-Lightning collection. As @hotrodmex noted above, the Wiki is pretty much useless for identifying potential updates for the standard, non-Lightning F-150.
That was lightning only. That is where it gets confusing on OTAs. Each job and year of the F150 run a different version. The 22 JOb2 now Have KG part number APIMS same as Lightning. THey dont run the lightning software though. The Expedition does. The superduty doesnt. Yet they have the same Part number APIM."When you’re using Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay®, you can now make them appear on your touchscreen in the size you prefer."
I'm on the verge of dropping $500 on a damn Mongoose and doing these damn updates myself.
Crap. I'd rather have that than Bluecruise, tbh. That was lightning only.
Yeah it's getting better, but Ford definitely doesn't make it easy to keep up with things!Someone is finally doing work on that page, because it's gotten better from even the last time I saw it with the models divided up. I think it still needs ICE separate from EV, but suppose the communications to the NHTSA just show the "F-150" when it's for EV or ICE, so maybe it really doesn't matter.
I ran both updates on mine now and was surprised not to find a mound of melted aluminum in the morning where my truck used to be.On September 1st, I got update: PU-0727-VI-FXB.
On September 3rd, I got update: PU-0707-SCH-POPB.
Jesse mentioned yesterday that only applies to the Lightnings. I was excited about it, too.Ok I got the updates, but what about (Below). Did we not get that?
- Android Auto can be expanded to fill more of the display[17] (it now resizes to fill either of the two view expansion states)
