I have a custom order lariat placed for x plan pricing, but continued delay in production had me continue searching here and there. I found a nearby dealer with STX that is willing to sell at msrp. Wanted to ask if that’s a decent deal or have you’ll been able to go below msrp for trucks on the lot

thanks for any input

If you do not mind traveling you will be able to save thousands on an order. Search these forums and you will see. I do not know how that compares to an X plan but if you are buying off the lot, most dealers are only selling for MSRP. If you have to have it quick, you pay for that convenience. MSRP is not a deal.

You can call around and ask for x plan pricing on in stock trucks. Most will not do it but some will and others may offer a discount to get you close or at least under msrp, but you gotta shop around. I would never pay msrp knowing what I do now from my own experience and all the info on this forum

The only way I’d pay MSRP for any vehicle is if I absolutely had no other choice but to buy now. If I found myself in that situation I’d probably buy used and wait until this supply chain nonsense is over.

Pay attention to how long ago the truck was built and what pricing level the sticker reflects. I paid not much under sticker on a lot truck 5 states away but it was a Febuary build and $3600-4000 under what it would price out at using current build and price. I think many dealers may reset the clock on a lot truck but mine was an abandoned special order priced 2 or 3 increases ago. It also had full activated BlueCruise and park assist...it's a crapshoot.

Nobody pays MSRP...
I agree with the sentiment and up to last month most I've paid in the past on an order had been x plan plus ( minus actually) any incentives and customer cash, but I have a feeling when 2023 pricing comes out people may wish they had not been so hung up on term and focused instead on the numbers.

There are idiots paying over MSRP.
It's nothing compared to the Rolex crowd. They pay $40k for a $15 retail watch due to short supply ...and even shorter attention spans.
