Front windows tint 20 or 30%?

I know nothing of window tinting. Never did it, never had it done but an old dog can learn so ...

My 01 XLT had the windshield eyebrow tinted from the factory.

The 23 has none noticeable.

As of this moment, that is the only tinting I'm interested in.

There are a few shops local enough to ask but thought I'd run it by you guys first.

Just got Llumar IRX ceramic all around. 50% on fronts with Air 80 on windshield and back windows. Very noticable heat rejection without sacrificing visibility for old man glaucoma eyes.

Pics? I'm close to getting IRX with 25 on the front, and really want to see what Air 80 would look like in the rear. I considered 50 in the rear, but think I'll find it too dark.

Not the best representation with overcast sky. The rears dont have the matte appearance as they appear in these photos. Just slightly darker “black” than OEM tint. I’m very pleased how the back glass looks. Might’ve gone 35% on my fronts if I had to do over but still very pleased with heat rejection. I think 25% on your fronts would be a very close match with 80 on rears.

Xpel Prime Ceramic. 15% on back window and fronts. 30% on the rear passenger windows. Matches pretty well. Also did 15% on the moonroof. Best decision ever. Always kept the cover closed even here in Michigan. Not anymore. Heat rejection is fantastic.

Who's your tint guy in Edmonton?

I used the Tint Crew in the west end, near Mayfield. I gotta call them actually. I need to find out what their warranty is. The tint on both windows is bubbling now.

Ahhh okay. Yeah that’s a problem. I would recommend Clear Choice Auto (CCA), west end too. They do all the higher end vehicles like Ferrari, etc but I’ve been going to CCA over 10 years haha. Tell them I sent you, they’ll take good care of you! Lifetime warranty as well.

My truck has rear privacy glass, so the front two windows look much lighter. I took it to a tint shop and put ceramic on the front two windows. The stock tint was 23% on the rears. Should I go with 20 or 30% on the fronts? 20% is not legal. I don’t want it to be too hard to see out of at night, but still aesthetic. Thanks.

I am just throwing this out there because I have learned my session. Your rear stock privacy glass doesn't do anything for sun rays meaning there are no protections like the front two you just tinted with ceramic. I have my front two and back three also tinted with ceramic so that it would make a difference all the way around.

I decided to keep it simple and did 5% over all sides & rear, and then 30% ceramic on windshield.

I haven’t even taken pics of my new truck yet because all it has is tint. I’ll have to take a pic tonight after work.

Kept mine with 20% fronts, 5% all rears; all ceramic tints. Fronts (driver, passenger and windshield) is illegal here and federal (RCMP) always enforces it here like crazy. So played it safe, for now!

Just got mine done; IRX 25 on front doors and AIR 80 on the rear (no windshield or pano yet). I was worried about the IRX 25 being too dark, but it's not bad at all, just a slight shade lighter than the rear.
