I had right at 1/9th tank showing with 79 miles to empty
i put in a squish less than 29 gallons, it read 28.79 gallons
lets not talk about cost
but the truck has 36 gallons tank with that math the truck was reading less than 11 mpg.
this is my first fillup and have only 611 miles so far so next tank i will start really paying attention to mpg
i had a 30 cent per gallon discount up to 30 gallons so i was hoping i could get 30 in ....

My V8 had been getting pretty awful MPG during break-in but my current tank should come to around 20MPG after several 12-16MPG tanks.

The range is an extrapolation of your driving and the 36 gallon tank has more gallons in reserve than the smaller tanks.

Some think that this is a result of the older 36 gallon tanks having issues starting on inclines and rather than redesigning the sump and baffles, Ford just increased the reserve.

I filled up twice with 50 miles to empty on my range and each time only took 26-1/3 gallons of fuel into my 36 gallon tank. So you’re not alone!

My 2.7 got pretty horrendous fuel economy for the first about 1,500 km. It was like it was purposely running rich, I couldn’t do anything to improve it for the first two tanks.

All of a sudden it was like a switch flipped and results were like night and day. It settled in and now for the past 4,000 km I’ve been getting consistently good numbers.
