I have a 2023 F-150 and it is paired with my iPhone 12 running IOS 17.1.2. There are several areas that CarPlay will disconnect and then reconnect. There a times when CarPlay will reconnect and the screen will freeze up until I reboot CarPlay on my phone. Took the truck to the dealership today and they did a complete rest on the system and then I reinstalled (paired) the phone. The issue still exists. Prior to this truck, I had a 2020 F-150 with the same phone and never had this issue. Is there any solutions for this issue? This happens when the phone is connected with usb cord or connected via Bluetooth.

I have had an iPhone 13 and 15 connected to my 21 and 23 and have very rarely had issues with wireless CarPlay and I use it pretty much every day. That being said I have some dropouts since updating to iOS 17, so I think it may be on the phone side of things rather than on the Sync side.

This issue started right when I got this truck in June and my phone was still operating on IOS 15, the same as when I had my 2020 model and having no issues

I just purchased a brand new 2023 Powerboost in December and I am experiencing the same issues.

Try changing the setting of your radio to use the dark theme. I haven't had issue for a couple of months with wireless arplay since changing it to the dark mode.

It is not just limited to iPhone. I have an Android and experience the same problems. Since I am using hte phone to access XM radio, I think it is caused by cellular sites not smoothly switching from one site to another as you travel. It also might be just poor signal areas I travel through, or in one case every time I drive near a large casino, I get a complete black-out. I am wondering if they employ a cell phone blocker in order to keep people from being distracted from gambling by using their phones. (That is illegal by the way if they are doing it)

Where I have had issues in my 2022 is with the wifi projector. When carplay either does not connect or drops off I always go here first. Sometimes the projector gets turned off and you can't slide it back on. You have to turn the truck off for a bit for it to reset. This does not happen daily, but when you jump in for a long ride and this happens it is really frustrating.

I have the same problem with my 2021 Plat. I have decided that it's related to Verizon's lack of Signal Strength in the location where the D/C occurs. They are struggling with 5G in many areas.

My Android phone disconnects at the exact same random spots in the middle of nowhere on certain roads/highways. It's always done it at the same locations for 2+ years now. I think it's getting a little less frequent as Android Auto version updates roll in. I am convinced it's from a combination of interference from cell signal overlap/intersections and maybe other radio frequencies. I don't think there's anything wrong with your trucks or phones. I think they're still working out how AA/CarPlay simultaneously utilize Bluetooth and a WiFi connection to the truck (for phone screen projection) and how they jive with background radio and cell frequencies. I'm no radio wave expert, but I do know that my disconnects are location-based.

Most likely it is due to 5G coverage or gaps in certain areas - there is also a 5G block that exists near certain areas (like airport radar, airports in general and US military installations where planes can take off and land). Basically there is a problem with how some Boeing aircraft navigation responds (or conflicts) when 5G is present - so the FAA makes all the 5G carriers block 5G signals in these areas. The work around is to set your phone to roam all networks (5G, 4G, etc), sometimes this helps other times it does not. There is also an issue with Carplay pairing correctly with the truck and I believe that is part of the projection issue within the entertainment system. Mine will reconnect if I go to General Carplay, switch it off then back on ... it comes right back up.
