Don't have one yet, but I guess I would just stow it up against passenger compartment if I had a load in the truck. Otherwise it is attached to the bed side walls and pivots or rotates to be a bed divider or a bed extender. I haven't heard any pros or cons, but it looks like a good option. I guess one con would be that it only has one position as a bed divider?
Mine is attached using large threaded Torx head bolts with a specific torque recommendation, like 55 ft-lb or something like that. That's why I wondered how you'd remove it. I load my dogs all the time so mine is stowed until needed for items.

I'll share some pics later of the various positions I'm talking about.

I see your point considering it is bolted in. I guess you would need to take the two bolts out to stow it unless they offer some type of quick release mounts? I also ordered the Ford divider initially, but it was a long lead item so I deleted it. I might end up with it again, but I'm looking around before I spend $300+ on Ford's version.

Ok here is how I use and intend to re-use it with propower.

Stowed position:

Grocery position:

Ford F-150 Best bed dividers and organizers 20210119_113823

Extended position, with (yellow) peg for gen13 trucks:

Ford F-150 Best bed dividers and organizers 20210119_114019

Extended position without the yellow peg down, I plan to use with my work surface tailgate:

Ford F-150 Best bed dividers and organizers 20210119_114036

Position I can access propower with tailgate down:

Ford F-150 Best bed dividers and organizers 20210119_114114

Position I plan to use to access propower when trailer is attached and I can't drop the tailgate:

Ford F-150 Best bed dividers and organizers 20210119_114301

This position might also work:

It just depends how far the dogbone connector sticks out from the L14-30 socket before it can flex. But based on the in person view of propower I'm confident it will work.

This makes a whole lot of sense now that you provided pics of the positions/stowage in the bed.
Thanks!

I got 6 or 7 of these in there and they’re so big that there’s not much room for them to be shifting around too much.
Keeps car stuff separated from other stuff and most of them are empty for when I need a clean spot to put some purchases or whatever.
(My truck bed is not the cleanest since the cover isn’t water proof and water from rain and the car wash get in there sometimes.)
But whenever I need a larger space in the bed these things just stack into each other to make more available floor space or I can just throw them all on top of each other in my garage since they’re also very light.

Awesome.....makes the 4x8 solution VERY attractive cost-wise.
This is great that you can move it to the new F150.
Another alternative to the 2x8 solution is to use e-track fittings into the boxlink plates, with cargo net, straps etc. (e-track has lots of options) ... if you're not familiar, googling "e-track & boxlink" will give some ideas or this example. This could also be used to divide diagonally from front to opposite rear boxlink plate. Cheap and easy ...

I see that divider on some websites for around $280, but they list it for model years 2015-2018. Ford's online accessories page for 2021 lists the part number as: ML3Z-99286A40-A while the accessories list on this forum calls for P/N FL3Z–99286A40–C. Anyone tried either of these in a 2021?

Same part number.
The A, B, C etc. are minor revisions and not related to fit.

Kinda like—-“Part may differ in appearance, but fit and function are same”

So the "FL" prefix vs. "ML" prefix is also not an issue? Seems funny that a divider for a 2021 would be a Rev. C. I would think the ML part number with a Rev "A" would be more likely the correct P/N and it is listed by Ford as a 2021 bed divider. I'd be interested to know if or when someone actually gets one installed on their 2021.

M=2021
F=2014 or 2015 Depending on whether or not the "I" is used. (Sometimes not as it can be confused with the number "1")

There may be a difference then. as the first Character is a model year first used.
That part of the number does not change unless there is a major revision.
Might be the provision for the electrical outlets in the bed since no other box support structures have changed----or no pin locator for the tailgate?

Thanks, that makes sense.

Mine was "Genuine Ford FL3Z-99286A40-C Bed Extender" and I plan to move it from my gen13 to new gen14. I measured the holes for compatibility.

That new part number appears to use the same image on Ford website, it even has the same yellow handle peg that won't fit into the work surface tailgate. Interesting.

Has anyone ordered and received the ML3Z version yet? Was looking to grab one up and see the difference...
