This is a day's old conversation - the 5.0 has ticks and knacks and clacks and clangs, we know this but that is not what I am experiencing.

About a month ago my coyote has been acting kind of strange, it's a '23 with 8500 miles on it. Under acceleration, in the 3K-4K RPM range, there is a fluttering sound from the driver side. If I had to describe it, it sounds like a deck of cards being shuffled (loudly) under the vehicle. It only happens under engine load and it only happens within that RPM range. It's likely coming from the exhaust, I actually think there is an exhaust leak.

Has anyone come across this? anyone have any ideas what this could be and what I could check. I can reproduce this 100% of the time and it. an be heard with windows open/closed, might be easier to just take this to the dealer.

Thanks

Check your hood seats/latch, sounds like you have the vibrating hood if it’s at 3,000-4,000 rpm. Try adjusting them to contact the hood sooner when it shuts.

Try cracking your passenger window minimally and see if it goes away

Is there a thread with others who have had a similar issue? Thanks, will try this later.

This is completely normal on pretty much most new 5.0s. Mine does it, every one I test drove does it. It's the hood rattling around as people have said.

I actually like the noise because it makes me feel like I'm driving a Snot Rod.

Are you sure it's not cyl deactivation? Everyone perceives it differently. Try driving in sport mode and see whether the sound is there?

There is no cylinder deactivation at 3,000-4,000 rpm lol. This sounds like the hood flutter. My dealer had to mess with the hood to stop it.

Sorry for late reply, wanted to try a few things and see what worked. I think this fixed it? I also just changed my break-in oil (new engine, was replaced at 4000 miles, 8500 miles on truck now).

Sound is gone now! Thanks
