That’s the one option I wish my truck had the 36 gallon tankYeap
Yea it was one of the top items I was looking for when I shopped around (Payload capacity was #1).That’s the one option I wish my truck had the 36 gallon tank
I have a similar spec'd truck, Max tow also. I am getting about the same results you are.I’m clearly doing something wrong. Even if I drive like a granny, I’m only getting 17.5mpg with 87 and close to 19.5 mpg on 93 octane by the computer. Unfortunately when I do the math at the pump it’s actually about 1 mpg less than that. I have just under 2k miles on the truck.
I am using 91 with NO Ethanol - just Gasoline. 275/65r20 on stock wheels/suspension and and averaging ~ 22mpg with mixed city/hwy on last 2 tanks - it was ~ 21mpg on the tank prior that was 87 with 10% EthanolWhen you are calculating your mileage and specifying "premium" or 87 vs 91 octane, is anyone noting the type of fuel?
Are you using any type of ethanol/blend or pure unleaded?
My Durango got 18mpg on regular unleaded and 14mpg on 10% ethanol blend. Same, road, same time of year, same driver. My Sub goes from 13-14 down to about 11-12 w/ enthanol.
Is that 20mpg from the computer or hand calculated?3000miles now, and just over 20 mpg average using 87 in my 3.5.
Both. I get the same numbers both ways. I live in a small city, so no rush hour traffic. Is that 20mpg from the computer or hand calculated?
Yeah in my experience the trip computer is generally pretty accurate for highway less so for stop and go. Mixed I usually come in about .5mpg short, all highway and I’m usually right on top of the computer.Both. I get the same numbers both ways. I live in a small city, so no rush hour traffic.
Also for the last 300miles i have turned off the traction control - seems to improve mpg to ~ 23.2mpg (only difference I have noticed is that when I let off the gas coming to a turn or stop with TC off the truck just coasts in current gear. With TC on it appears to immediately down shift 2-3 gears)I am using 91 with NO Ethanol - just Gasoline. 275/65r20 on stock wheels/suspension and and averaging ~ 22mpg with mixed city/hwy on last 2 tanks - it was ~ 21mpg on the tank prior that was 87 with 10% Ethanol
I have 800 miles on my Platinum 3.5 Eco. I used ECO Mode on the highway for 40 miles and got 24.5 MPG. This truck is amazingI admit, I accelerate more aggressive than I should. The highway mileage is what is most disappointing for me. Honestly thought getting 18-20 on the highway at 65mpg would be realistic.
