Hi all - is this picture normal wear or a warranty issue? Referring to the dark brown in picture and is there a part number for bottom half leather on seat?

yes put some lexol conditioner on it, rub it in and let it stand, then buff off once dry

its real leather, although thinner than years past, its still good leather and needs some love
the thin coating of protectant wears pretty fast from jean and sliding rears
mine is missing the phone option in the seat pan. 🤣

normal wear and tear. that’s just the result of your bottom making contact with it every single day.

My XLT has cloth, but I still use the grab handle to lift my a$$ off the bolster when getting out so it stays nice and full :giggle:

Now that’s one good looking brown leather interior and I’m not even a huge Subaru fan. Nice looking ride looks great 🫣

I will say. Never use cleaner on the leather.
Always use a damp cloth and wipe away any gunk
Then and only then use the cleaners.
If you do use leather cleaner
Make sure you wipe real good with damp cloth to get all the cleaner off..
All purpose ones are really a no no
If not the residue will create gunk magnets

Liberally apply lexol. . Rub it in
Let it dry then buff with soft cloth

Never used alcohol or citric acid based cleaners
Read the bottle of all the products
There are good ones out there
But lexol has been kr approved for long long time.

a lot of great options out there, I have been using Griots on classic and modern leather for 30 years with no trouble.

I think the real key ingredient is just doing something. any leather product is better than never doing anything

Leather stays a lot healthier if you keep it moist with a good conditioner. It'll be much less likely to tear or crack.

Both leather and pleather like being conditioned. When it starts to dry out (even pleather's off-gassing does it, and other plastic surfaces as well), fabrics, particularly jeans, can quickly begin to abrade the surface. Leather is far more susceptible than quality pleathers.

Make it a monthly habit to condition the surfaces and you shouldn't have an issue. Just quick applications regularly are enough. Be careful with lighter colored surfaces and jeans as jean dye can start to blue the surface, particularly true for newer jeans. You can wash them in hot water, pausing the washer at the end of the wash cycle before it rinses to see if there's dye in the water.

Try not to make the seat side bolster an ass slide for getting out of the vehicle -- that destroys those surfaces the fastest. Rivets in jeans can also be particularly harsh.

What about actual king ranch conditioner
yes its made by..........lexol 🤣

i have read....but never tried....but it was mentioned driving with no pants or undies and saturating the seat pan with conditioner is the best way to get the hand rubbed application without the work
