2022 Lariat or 2021 Platinum

I'm debating on whether I should cancel my 2022 Lariat order and get back my deposit and go with a 2021 Platinum fully loaded with 7k miles on it. Both are the powerboost.

When was the 2021 built and why was it traded in?

I'm not sure when it was built. My buddy built a Raptor and the dealer said he probably wouldn't be getting it so he order a Platinum. A handful of months later his Raptor came in so he traded in the Platinum for the Raptor

For me it would depend on the deal and how soon I needed the truck. Maybe some day I could see myself paying MSRP for a vehicle, but that time isn't close. I ordered from Granger, so I'm saving thousands on my Platinum. At the same time, if I had known I would place my order and still have no VIN after two months, I might have worked with local dealers more even though Granger has been excellent so far.

Yeah also could never live with that platinum tailgate. I would have liked Platinum or Limited interior and been happy to pay up for it but couldn’t live with non sport exterior so went Lariat (I’m not as big a fan of KR interior but to each their own buying that sport)

I'm trading in a Powerboost Platinum with about 5700 miles on it. It'll be one year old about the day my KingRanch Powerboost arrives. (if Ford really does build it)

I haven't even removed all the tags from it.
I love the Powerboost more than I thought I was going to. So much so that I decided that I would keep it loooooong term IF I could have it exactly the way I wanted it.
The Platinum is beautiful, but you can't keep it clean. Lol
And I want that extra foot in the bed in the worst way.

So you never know what the story is on a low mileage trade in, but more times than not I bet it isn't any kind of horror story. This truck has been flawless. And I've even got it 100% up to date on Ford's failed OTA updates. (using FDRS)

Will be going back to my traditional White.

The interior on the Platinum is nice! My good buddy is the one who traded the truck in so I know nothing is wrong with it he just got a Raptor. I know how my buddy is and he said he got everything on the Platinum I'm just waiting for him to send me a pic of the window sticker. I am leaning towards getting it and getting my deposit back on the Lariat. I am definitely partial to the black Platinum

That Platinum pictured above is actually Rootbeer brown with a lot of metal flake.
But you wouldn't know it unless there's not a cloud in the sky.

You'll love the Platinum. You might have to do a little de-chrome to get it perfect, but the whole package is just first class

It was made Jan 2021 and dealer will give it to me for $71,300 with 5000 miles on it. The 2022 Lariat I built was $67,900 and who knows when I'll get that.

Driving a 2017 Tundra Limited now

Thinking of going up Monday to check it out and maybe pull the trigger

yup, lariat sport. Hate the chrome on the platinum/limited

502a and the extras I have means Im Not really missing out on too many features.
