2016 Lariat to a 2021 Platinum

Hi all, new here. Yesterday I traded in my Black 2016 Lariat Sport for a 2021 Platinum FX4 in Star White with the 3.5 Ecoboost.

My biggest complaint about the 2016 Lariat was the ride quality. Cruising down the highway it was good, but around town it was very bumpy and stiff feeling. My local dealer had this Platinum in so I took it for a test drive. I heard the ride would be better, but was concerned about the FX4 making it stiff and bumpy. However, I could tell within 100 yards of leaving the dealership that this ride quality was night a day different from the 2016 Lariat. I was sold.

I’ve always had black trucks, but the Star White looked so good in person. The only thing I’ll do to is is tint the windows (and I switched out the radio antenna for a short one that’s only a few inches tall for a better look).

thoughts on going from a 6.5' bed to a 5.5' bed?

That was another thing I wanted... the short bed. I never really needed the length of the 6.5 and the turning radius was terrible. U-Turns were always a gamble.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed in my 24hrs of ownership, regarding the shorter bed, is the turning radius is significantly better.

Beautiful truck! Funny, I see Smoke Quartz and say "that's the color". Then I see a Star White truck and think "no, that's the color'. In the end, I'm likely going to order SQ, but SW is sharp!

I did take a look at Space White and considered it, but Star White did it for me. I haven’t seen SQ in person yet.

I went from a 2017 Lariat 502 to a 2021 King ranch (also star white). The ride is night and day different. The new truck is so smooth and very quiet.
