2 year update on my 2021 Platinum Hybrid 4x4

It’s been 2 years since I got mine. Group 701a, Moonroof, 7.2 pro power, Max tow, FX4, interior work surface, Max Recline seats and 100,000 mile warranty. Here is a little update after 57,000 miles. At least half of those pulling a 18’ trailer with a SXS and ATV all around the country. From Houston to Virginia, to South Dakota and to California and many places between the miles piled up quickly. Gas mileage avg 22-24 mpg without trailer, 8.5-11 mpg with it. Gas to Hybrid and back is smooth and not really noticeable. Plenty of torque/horsepower for good acceleration when pulling a trailer. Max tow must works too I guess. I don’t really notice too much change in handling with the trailer. One windshield, one set of tires, multiple oil and filter changes and one check engine light are all the maintenance that was needed. All recalls done except for the wiper motor. Blue Cruise finally activated in June. I use it a lot but it doesn’t work with trailer attached. Don’t use the work surface very often because my cup holders are full most of the time. Full recline seats get occasional use and give a good surface for a short nap or whatever you use them for. The back seat area needs to be clear so the seats can go all the way down. It will alarm if passenger seat is down while traveling. Massage function with heat or cool gets used all the time on a long road trip. Moon roof is seldom used but nice when it’s needed. Never used park assist. and trailer backup assist once or twice just to try it. Rear camera gives a good view of trailer while going down the road. Other camera views are useful too. No transmission issued like some have experienced. Apple Car play works good. Large info screen is nice too. Pro power has been used more than I thought it would. I got a lot of news, internet and magazine coverage when I used it during a Texas freeze and power grid issue to power up some things in my house. It comes in handy for tail gating, camping, working and a lot of other activities. Ford had a great idea on that option. So after a couple of years with no issues and a bunch of miles I’m going to keep it for a lot more miles and see where it can take me.

Nice write up. Just a thought, for some doing trailering , any reason you passed on the tow mirrors. Truck seems to have everything else.

I am at 2 years on my Platinum FX4 as well. No full recline seats in my case. Just over 32k miles for me, with about 30% of those pulling our Lance 2445.

I have been very pleased with the performance of the truck. I have similar MPG numbers to yours: 22 empty (HWY/City) and 8.5 to 11 MPG towing depending on speed (70 MPH vs. 65 MPH).

I also love how OTA allows Ford to improve my truck over time. My truck now has Blue Cruise, Cameras in motion, CarPlay direction on dash and full screen CarPlay - all since my original purchase. I received the trailer control module recall via OTA without having to go to the dealer. This is a game changer for the automotive industry, and I am glad to see Ford commit to this capability across it’s line of vehicles.

Thanks for the write up. It's always great to hear from people with some time and miles on a truck.

I'm at 9 months of ownership and 15k miles and so far, I'm happy. A couple minor issues but nothing major.

I was nervous going from a SRW F350 Powerstroke back to a LD truck but I must say the torque of the ecoboost and in my case powerboost has won me over so far.

I put on Michelin Defender LTX from Discount Tire. I really don’t notice much difference. Good smooth ride, maybe a little better feel on wet road conditions now.

Wonder how many Powerboosts you were personally responsible for selling after being featured. I know those Texas events were what first caught my attention about the Powerboost. No idea on that. My truck and that story were on the news, in magazines and newspapers, all over the internet and in a 2021 Ford shareholders video segment so I assume a bunch. I got an F150 hat from my salesman about a month later.

I have purchased 2 Powerboost for personal use and 1 Powerboost for business use and I can absolutely vouch that YOU were the catalyst!

That first Texas Freeze and the coverage was the ONLY reason I parted with my beloved 2018 KingRanch RV towing masterpiece.

So, thank you. I didn't realize that I'd come across the fella that had me asking "What? It has WHAT built in? Get outta here"
