Just bought some property to build a getaway house out in the desert and I took some sunset pictures with the truck in the background. These sunsets are why I bought the property. I spent a few hours just gazing at the bright Milky Way and watching for shooting stars and satellites passing by.

Note the birdhouse on the wooden post behind the truck in the first shot. That was my only land mark in the middle of all the sage brush for finding the property, which was in about the middle third of the property. I figured that was as good a spot as any to cut through a small patch to park, and cut in the driveway since I at least had a small visual landmark for now.

And yes I know I need bigger tires, but I’m waiting until the ‘free’ Pirelli Scorpions that came on the truck are worn out. They did surprisingly well the sand bogs with a bit of momentum on the road out there

Based upon my experience, you shouldn’t have to wait long for the Pirelli’s to wear out. I really had to push it to get 28k miles out of mine.

Yeah I made sure to stop at the hardware store to get a 4x8 sheet of ply to extend past the tailgate a little bit for some extra length since I have the toolbox in the bed.

I’m with ya, I didn’t want to be sleeping with the snakes🤣

Oh wow, I’m at 36k miles and they are only about half worn. I will definitely be swapping them before winter hits though.

What size rims did yours come with? I’m just thinking out loud, but I wonder if taller side walls vs. lower profile makes a difference in the wear rate. I’m no tire expert

I can only dream now… If I were 30 years younger, I’d do something like that in a heartbeat, especially in todays <um> world… Godspeed… thank you for pictures!

Yeah I’m 31 and not loving the direction our world/country has taken. It’s really refreshing to be out there without cell service and be in my own little world

edit: autocorrect originally typed with cell service instead of without cell service. There are zero bars on my phone 🤣
