So, where exactly is this desert? A lot of folks in TX end up buying some desert property in the Big Bend Area. Beautiful. Very remote, but beautiful.

Thank you! The tent I have is a Kamp-Rite double tent cot. The cot portion didn’t quite fit in the bed of the truck with the wheel wells since I have the tool box in the bed also. So I just used the tent portion set up on a 4x8 and used that. In the future when I go out there to do work I will build a better platform that’s elevated above the wheel wells for more width so I can use the cot portion as wellNICE truck and Nice view! What kind of tent is that? looks pretty good also
This is actually in eastern Washington. The Cascade mountain range pretty much splits the state in half, so the west side (the Seattle/socialist side) is the rainy and wet side and the east side gets over 300 days of sun. The weather is probably more akin to the high deserts of Colorado. Summers are regularly 90-100 degrees and winters are usually in the teens, but doesnt dip below zero as often. So, where exactly is this desert? These are gorgeous photos, Alex! And a beautiful F-150 too!Just bought some property to build a getaway house out in the desert and I took some sunset pictures with the truck in the background. These sunsets are why I bought the property. I spent a few hours just gazing at the bright Milky Way and watching for shooting stars and satellites passing by.
Note the birdhouse on the wooden post behind the truck in the first shot. That was my only land mark in the middle of all the sage brush for finding the property, which was in about the middle third of the property. I figured that was as good a spot as any to cut through a small patch to park, and cut in the driveway since I at least had a small visual landmark for now.
And yes I know I need bigger tires, but I’m waiting until the ‘free’ Pirelli Scorpions that came on the truck are worn out. They did surprisingly well the sand bogs with a bit of momentum on the road out there
Any pics of the stars? Spent the night in the bed of my powerboost for the first time last week and enjoyed looking at the milky way. It was dimmer than I hoped (rural midwest), so hoping the desert would offer clearer views.Just bought some property to build a getaway house out in the desert and I took some sunset pictures with the truck in the background. My camera phone wasn’t able to get any of the stars clearly, but there was a point when the sunset turned green which was really cool. I tried to get a picture of it, but the color didn’t show up nearly as good on the camera of my ancient iPhoneAny pics of the stars?
