What is this plug used for

The plug is connected to the generator wiring harness but what do you plug into it ??? Is there some accessory that plugs into it????

It looks like the plug that would connect to the Pedestrian Alert Speaker if you had a PowerBoost.

Also since I'm not using it and it is open to elements and I'm guessing it is live? Is there some type of cap for it, or just wrap it with electric tape?

Well, it’s wrapped in orange which denotes high voltage. High voltage can be AC or DC. What vehicle do you have? Which side and how far back is the connector? What PPoB if any do you have? By generator do you mean the PowerBoost traction motor, the high voltage DC-DC converter, or the alternator for non PowerBoost models?

I got a tremor ecoboost 3.5 with PRO POWER ONBOARD - 2KW the line is connect from the outlet to harness and then to the plug which is close to the 7way plug all of which is on the drivers side

If you have the Ecoboost 3.5, then your 2KW inverter only works when your engine is running. You dont have the PowerBoost engine which would require the Pedestrian Alert System.

I would tape it up good, along with that other exposed connector in the background. Better solution is finding matching connector to snap in a dead end but quality tape will do the job. Ford might be okay with dangling open connectors but I am not.

I'm trying to find a cap for that harness but not having any luck with it, so tape it is!!

I respectively suggest you allow the dealer to figure that one out. It will be cheaper for you if he burns it up. It may be unplugged for a reason.

It is a nice looking connector however.
