XLT truck here with on board scales.

Have my Ryan Broderick harnesses for HCM, projector heads and LED tails. Just ordered an ELM327 and will soon download Forscan on my laptop.

I have ZERO experience with Forscan and looking at the codes online makes my brain hurt.
Am I mechanically gifted? So so, I can get through most things that seem logical. Now when it comes to computer and the IT world, pretty terrible I must admit.

Anyone have any feedback? Tips etc?

I'm aware of the PR video for fishing the harness through the firewall and still have to figure out where/how to pin the harness.

Bump.

Took care of the tails. Easy harness swap and Forscan not as complicated as I had thought. Everything functioning as it should.

Tackling the headlights on the other hand looks to be a little more challenging. Have to figure put how to do the pinning.

Anyone else tackle this that can chime in?

Really looking to dive into it but my schedule hasn't yet afforded the opportunity.

Well, decided to tackle the front protector OEM upgrade from OEM BiLED XLT.
Have the precision retrofit custom painted projectors.
In their videos, seems all trucks are STX level trim.
Trying to find the firewall grommet to fish the harness through on the passenger side.

Found it, but it's buried under another firewall insulation aluminum blanker in the XLT engine bay.
Can't access it from above and darn difficult to get to it from underneath the dash.

Taking a bit now to think of next move.

Well not easy, especially with a lowered truck, no lift, no ramps.

Pulled back the passenger wheel well liner and came up from below to peel back the firewall insulation. Managed to notch a slit to get the grommet exposed, then fished the harness wire through engine bay with a coat hanger.

Hope your install went well. I did this setup, and was dumb enough to take it back to stock since I’m selling the truck. Ryan was and has been a big help.
