Wow. The shifter assembly is motorized, just to be an over-ride for dummies? Not callin y'all dummies just for using it this way, but that's a lot of engineering and additional vehicle expense for something that can be accomplished just by dinging an alarm at you ("vehicle not in park!", etc).

Does my '19 console shifter do this? Guessing not but will have to try.

I don’t think Auto Hold has anything to do with the shifter function.

I don’t think Auto Hold has anything to do with the shifter function.
I don’t either it’s afunction of opening the door in gear and no seatbelt.
I think the idea is if you aren’t wearing seatbelt and the door opens , it goes to park incase you fell out.
