Tornado just tore up my town back home. Rated it an EF3. I'm out of state for work but our place and my family are fine. Very rare occurrence there, but for whatever reason, it happened.

good to hear the family is safe
our storms used to get screwed up as they came across the lake and either went north or south and missed us
but last few years its been less of curve and more at us.
we are gettign older and dont bounce as easy

well truck arrived with shelter, about 330..he is not related to or work for the installer.
his job is back truck to spot, place shelter, seal it and add top and final seal inside and adjust all operating things like ladder (steps) and door prop and lock.
he refused to drive his short wheel base 3 axle truck across the very shallow bar ditch (dry) and in y yard. dude was rude and wanted me to move my carport so he could use my driveway......YEAH right .
so i got my rear neighbor to let us back the truck trough her driveway to a vacant lot to make a 50 degree turn to my end lot and across my property to the landing zone.. this happened at about 10 minutes to 5 , after the contractor arrived to console the driver and light a fire under his tail
after that things moved pretty fast
the installer finished dressing the dirt and making sure the insect screens were in place and door functioned as advertised. he has to come back in 3 days after the rains to rake out the CLAY...omg its sticky, wet and heavy. dude was talented on the backhoe. he earned his money.
so in a few days the fence gets re assembled and then maybe next week it dries out to rake the clay and put plants back in and a tree

told my wife i am putting in sat TV , fridge and stuff....
i am actually running power and a UPS system to run led lights inside right off.
then see how it goes from there..train dog to go down the stairs
Pray we dont have to use it

Sounds as if it will double as a man cave.....

The scary part about that, is it appears lockable from the outside. Wife could lock ya in there! lol.

I would put in a built in humidor and some exhaust fans. Maybe a port-a-potty, lol.

agree
it has vents , but its HUMID here . so power, a battery and led lights plus a golden rod or something to tame the moisture
lots to still to do, we have bad weather next few days..hopefully we wont need to test it .
