Are they the Dynapro AT2? Are they any good in snow?

Yup, Dynapro. As far as snow, what’s that? 😁

They’re pretty decent in heavy rain though, for what it’s worth.

18, or 20" wheels?

If 18", a good chance of being Goodyear Wrangler ATs.

18”, I have Goodyear AT. They are quiet on the highway, average in the snow up to 6”. Best to throw some weight in the bed if you are expecting to drive in snow. That certainly helped me heading to my mountain cabin.

With that said, I am not impressed in hydroplane resistance in heavy rain. I typically run Michelin Defender LTX on my Outback and Sequoia and I never have hydroplaning like I experience with the GY. I have always had great experience with the Defender LTX M/S2 in snow as well. The GY AT are not as good as the Michelin from my perspective and I have put hundreds of thousands of miles on Defender LTX Michelins across multiple vehicles.

I do not off road in deep mud, but the GY perform no better in my off road hunting excursions than the Michelins.

Just my experience over 15K miles.

Thanks guys. I’m going to get rims for the hakkapeliitta’s that I run on my Explorer then and get a better AT tires for the shoulder seasons.

The hankook Dynapro AT2s are 3 peak rated in most of their sizes, but not the ones on the F150. Same tread pattern though so it's odd. The stock tires are more than adequate for highway applications. They say they're SL rated, but their specs say XL with its 51psi capacity.

I wouldn't be surprised that this exact tire's specs are to cater to Ford specifically. They didn't want either XL or 3 peak ratings on paper for whatever reason.

I'm no kind of tire expert but I had to learn the hard way about hydroplaning.

I had an 80s vintage F150. 2 wheel drive but RC short bed, so it got around pretty well. I drove off road every day for work. It had Uniroyals. Don't recall which version but I called them puzzle tread. They were very good in the mud, which I needed but were horrible re hydroplaning. No longitudinal grooves. Water and snow just stacked up in front of them. The truck was very hard to stop in such conditions. Of course this was pre ABS.

So far, the goodyears are much better but still don't have true longitudinal grooves FWIW.

I agree about hydroplaning, that’s why I got the Hakk’s as it rains a lot here, my previous Bridgestone were better on ice and in snow but were terrible in rain. The Hakk’s are a good balance for both.
