I thought it was because Ford's headquarters are in Detroit.
Not because the that's where the truck was assembled.
Canadian XLT Sport. I have the maps on my doors and my truck was built in Kansas City.

Don't know if it's an Easter Egg, but if you rub your fingers across the top bezel above the center stack in a KingRanch, it feels like a bunch of scratches/imperfections.

Get your head up high enough to look down and it's an artist rendition of the King Ranch entrance in Kingsville Texas.

I'm a big fan of the ranch, it's history and some of the legends spoken by the locals there. I've had a few trucks in that trim for very different reasons than most? Lol

The early KingRanch trim was the real deal.
(2004 King Ranch F350 looked and smelled like boot leather for the 9 years I drove it)

That was the other Easter egg that the article mentioned: the map on the XLT, and the illustration above the 12” screen on the KR. I’m really curious about the Lariat Easter egg, since that’s my model, but it would be interesting to hear about the others as well.

This is Sport Appearance Package (XLT) only as far as I know, FYI. It may come with Lariat Sport Appearance Package, but it 100% is Sport Appearance Package only. I hope that clears up some misconceptions.

Interesting! As mentioned before, my 2022 XLT with BAP built in Dearborn does not have the Detroit map. Maybe it was a supply issue. Who knows.
