If you’re tuned do you have to stick that white airflow straightener in the tube to prevent a cel?

My instructions said to, and I did, and I didn't get a CEL.

I did drive it very lightly for 2mi without the white airflow straightener (to get the tool needed to install the damned thing) and the CEL did not come on in that short time.

I will clean this up more with sand paper but trimmed this with a dremel cut off wheel. I think it looks close to the oem raptor piece.

After some research, this white tube to avoid the cel, may not be necessary with the Livernois tune. I have a couple hundred miles of validation by driving in a way to try to get the cel to pop up and so far nothing. I will post back if anything changes.
If it’s not needed, I think not having that obstruction in the pipe would be better for airflow.
