Got the resonator rattle like I had where you shut your door and the exhaust resonator rattles? My dealer actually is decent so they took care of me and my truck. Check out the forum post for back story if you need details of how to address with your dealer but this picture below should give you all the info you need to push your local dealer service department to cover it.

It's like the sound of a new truck

Jesus, that shouldn't be happening on a Platinum. The last 3 drives I've done, I got to my destination and upon shutting the door, no rattle

There appear to be 2 separate version of the resonator rattle. One where it rattles when cold, and you can hear when opening and closing the doors when first getting in the vehicle, and the other the complete opposite, where it rattles when the exhaust is fully warmed up. Mine did it when cold and rather than hassle with a service dept for them to throw on the same part that I fear will develop the same issue down the road I just did a resonator delete tube. It is lame that I spent $170 to fix an issue that never should have been an issue, so I can see why getting it fixed under warranty would be desirable, I just dont have the paitence.

Reference my workup that i included from service and it even has the parts breakdown if i'm not mistaken. Your easiest fix is to have someone do a Vibrant resonator (highly suggest this brand) if you can't get them to budge. Not super expensive and a high quality muffler shop will fix that for good. As you can see here, they don't cost a ton and usually the muffler shops have them in stock.

Yeah, for sure, if i didn't have a laundry list of other things to get done such as checking the recall for the rear axle harness (highly recommend not just zip-tying it yourself because you want it documented that you had Ford do it if anything ever happens to the vehicle related to the emergency braking system). My TCM got updated to a different version software (TSB 23-2250 for reference) and truck shifts beautifully i might add but would also suggest not giong in and out of Normal mode if you can help it. Imagine dating a bipolar girl and expecting her to always be the same person all day every day. The different drive modes do not help a transmission learn your habits i guess is what i'm saying. Plus they leveled my truck and man, do i love that look.

UPDATE: Ford’s customer experience specialist stated that they can’t force Ford dealers to make repairs, as they are a private business. Therefore, if anyone like me is facing an issue that clearly falls under warranty repair but dealerships refuse to address it due to a lack of Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) from Ford, Ford can’t help.

Attached is my dealership service write-up for my 2022 F-150 Tremor with the 3.5L EcoBoost, experiencing a cold start resonator rattle. I have visited two dealerships; both acknowledged the noise but stated that, in the absence of a technical service bulletin (TSB) from Ford for this specific issue, they are hesitant to replace the resonator. They fear Ford might not recognize the defect when the dealer ships the resonator to Ford, potentially leaving the dealership liable for the replacement costs. Due to the lack of a TSB and the dealerships' reluctance to proceed, the dealership provided the following justification for a vehicle costing over $70k: 'No correction needed. Recommend not starting the vehicle in gear until it exits 'high idle mode'. The vehicle will emit unusual noises until the oil pressure stabilizes throughout the engine.' After reaching out to Ford, I was assigned a 'Customer Experience Specialist', likely a recent college graduate with limited automotive knowledge, to assist me.

For those seeking to replicate the noise at the dealership: Leave your vehicle first thing in the morning and instruct them not to start it until the afternoon. Ensure you are the one to start the vehicle, immediately placing it in gear while keeping your foot on the brake, and have a service technician listen for the resonator rattle. Before departing, insist they document the noise in writing. Without this, Ford's Customer Experience Specialist only takes the dealership's word over yours. It's astonishing that many online report the same issue with these resonators, whether it's a cold start rattle or occurs when the resonator is hot, yet Ford has not issued a TSB. Until Ford releases a TSB for this issue, visiting the dealership for a resolution might be futile. You may choose to wait indefinitely or replace it yourself if you lose patience with Ford.

I too had the resonator rattle at cold and hot and it drove me crazy. After reading about it online, and seeing folks who had a new OEM resonator installed only to have the rattle return again, I opted to install a resonator delete pipe. Although the exhaust note is a little louder, and the interior note is a little louder as well, I'm now really used to it and it doesn't bother me. I actually like now hearing the slightly louder exhaust note at idle as it almost (*almost*) has a V8 rumble to it. Still a V6 of course.
