Anyone have experience ordering factory matched/painted body panels?
My truck got hail damage, mainly to the hood and thinking about just buying a replacement.
I talked to insurance, went to their body shop and doesn't seem worth going through them. I've got a $1000 deductible and some pocket...
hard no for me (dog)
I got the Weather Tech Seat Protector and Door Protectors. Liked them so much I a set for my wife's car also.
Easy to take on and off and the tan matches the carmello leather pretty well. I spent time and money tracking down this color interior, and I love my dog, but...
I just went and checked it after being cold for 3 hours and its gone...add it to my list of items before I go rent a car. now to find a reputable service department
This is a known and common problem. If memory serves me right, all they're going to do is replace the 'gutter' with the same faulty part. This guy finally found it and plan to do it myself. Its a relatively easy fix. Unacceptable for $70,000 truck, but fixable. What isn't...the f@&king moldy...
Aside from wrapping cables and clips for sound isolation, I've also used Tesa tape for between panels (metal/plastic).
'Squeak tape' may also be of use for between panels. High density PE. Used for drawer slides of woodworking jigs -super slick, anywhere you want no friction.
Thanks for finding this. This has been a real pain in the ass and something I experienced on my 2013 also. Most people's comments are, 'check the floor board carpet'. Definitely going to water test this.
If you're on the Milwaukee platform, look at the first generation 18v. Think its model 0880-20, 2 gallon. I've put it through hell on two renovations and has good battery life for a vacuum. I'd recommend something with a hose, you'll have greater access over using a handheld.
