Ford Performance BLACK CHROME Exhaust Available!

As many of you may have wanted, Ford has released an OEM 2021-2022 F150 Black Exhaust. Retail is $150usd. Part number M-5260-BCT1

Seems like a great purchase especially any one who is not looking to paint their original exhaust. However one thing I am confused about is that it says trimming of the tailpipe is required. Is it actually required? I don't see the need to cut anything off since the original tip can be removed and this can be clamped on. Can anyone confirm?
I would test it myself but I am in Canada and can't directly buy it unfortunately.

As I said in the other thread that this popped up in. They are really proud of that exhaust tip. $150 seems outrageous for what it is.

Paint your chrome one with high temp black paint----$20 bucks maybe!!!! simple

You'd simply be trimming it if it sticks out too far. For that price though, the pipe clamp should also be black

That is nice looking but $150 is a little steep. As Silver said, for the money they could not make the clamp black too?

Agreed. For $150 you could paint the existing tip several times. If done correctly, you shouldn't need to.

I think I'm going to buy some paint and an old toaster oven from habitat for humanity or someplace like that and paint and heat treat mine (I would heat treat it on the truck, but I'm worried the power boost will kick into electric too much).

that just seems like way too much for a tip. Mind you I payed more for a Corsa style on my Sierra but it was duel tip like I posted above.
