Has anyone does this to their truck currently or previously? Have a LEER 100XR coming in few short weeks (finished and already on the way) with remote lock/unlock and was wondering how to achieve this where the glass pops up with the tailgate?

I know right—definitely peaked my interest!

So have I, wanted to see if anyone here has done it; could share the tips!

Yes that module is for the wiring for the entire canopy into the truck, including the lock/unlock with truck feature in 100XR and above modules; I know the Legend series don’t have it as it’s basic. Saw a few videos earlier today now I want it haha, makes it a lot easier!

I hear you, but if you have a use for it and can use it a lot—it’s really a no brainer. I know the price feeling but I went for it. With the prices of the 2024 currently, I’m keeping my 22 Lariat for a longer time.

The window is just on hydrolic struts right? Seems like the tailgate opening pushes enough on the topper window for it to pop open?

I honestly have no idea! It’s hard to tell from the videos as I haven’t found a DIY instructions yet. It does look like the tailgate pushes it but I doubt it at the same time because our tailgate doesn’t force enough power quick enough to push it out that quick?

i bet it has a release and the tension in the struts gives it that push
i have horizontal doors on my bus with gas struts, if you pop the latch they push out about 1/2 way in a nice smooth motion, but rather snappy in time
i see lots of good out of it, save you having to unlock the cap, then drop the tailgate
then we add a powered slider to move out to receive the gear we are putting in or taking out, like the DECKED boxes , thats the other item my brain says i need..

Oh wow, I bet it may be the same case here but definitely will attempt this when the cap comes in.

Yes exactly, definitely saves time without doing all that all at once. Really helps! DECKED box is next after the canopy comes in then the WESTIN HDX wrap around push bumper with winch (have a EB so no hidden winch for me).

Watching this thread hoping someone has an idea where to splice into for trucks with the powered tailgate. I have the CHMSL wired in, but have left the lock/unlock feature uninstalled for now with that module's wires sitting under the driver door sill plate where the door lock wires are. Because I'd really like it to work with the tailgate (per this thread).

🤞

P.S. My $.02, I think the topper glass is just lifter "powered."

Lock/Unlock feature—do you have a canopy that you’re trying to wire the canopy lock/unlock or?

—topper glass, I’m thinking the same but it’s hard to know without getting close or knowing what’s all involved. I’m like “take my money” if I can find out how this is possible 😂

Nice feature. Somewhat related but what type of window struts do I need to “push” open the glass when I turn the latch? Now they have no positive pressure. They stay wherever you open it to.
