Washed and waxed the truck today and found four scratches down to the primer on the lower passenger door. Looks like the front tire threw something up into the door. Makes me sick on a brand new truck. Looking at either taking this to a body shop or maybe trying Dr. Color Chip not sure yet.

As a side note, never had these problems /w my 13th gen. This is the second or third rock chip I have found in 13k miles of ownership. Has Ford's paint process changed? I guess its time to invest in PPF.

Mud flaps?

I've had good results from touchup direct for other vehicles. Never heard of Dr color chip.

Is that a lower trim accent color or is the entire vehicle that color…what color is it?

I don’t think this new paint is as durable. I also got a scratch down to the metal on my rear wheel well area. No idea how I got it. I have the touch up direct pens. Just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit. I do have the Ford mud flaps.

I guess I'm glad it's not just me. My metallic 2015 didn't scratch nearly as easily. That or the scratches were less noticeable on rhe lighter color truck.

I noticed in 2024 paint protection film is a factory option. Totally would have done that on my order if it was a 22 option.

Yea, I never had this problem on my 08 either. It was white metallic though.

100% can catch a fingernail in them. They are deep. Hoping they can still be filled and I won't have to get the pannel sprayed and blended.

My experience with metallics is that they don’t touch up well….solid colors are different..I use orthodontic applicators and have great results with solids but metallics need a sprayer to disperse the pigments uniformly….in this case it looks like a a small air brush would be useful…with a mixture of base and spot clear….of course with some practice on a card.
