FORScan windows laptop

So I just figured out our laptop is a chromebook so its not windows. I believe I've seen here you need a windows laptop to do FORScan . And I saw someone on one of the many threads posted a cheap windows laptop to use FORScan on. Anyone know this or know of one thats cheap but works good with FORScan. I don't wanna spend alot since the absolute only thing it'd be used for would be FORScan.

Once I get out of terror of using FORScan I can possibly change some things on my truck. Lol

I'm terrified of FORScan. I'm not tech savvy at all. But I've been reading posts on here thinking I may jump in. But then I notice my laptop isn't usable.

You will need and ODB2 connection of some sort. I have a Mongoose so I use it for FDRS and Forscan. There are a few OBD2 connectors listed on the Forscan site. One I believe was designed to work with Forscan.

Yeah I have one in my cart that I saw on one of the threads. I'm just looking to find a great deal on a compatible laptop since mine isnt compatible. Chromebook isn't windows

I know buying a used laptop is a gamble unless you get one with a warranty or something. Maybe a local computer repair shop has one that would work. Would not need a high power unit. I would not want to get one from a ad on line.

Thats what makes it so bad I want one that'll work but doesn't have to be fancy. Scared of those refurbished ones my luck it'd crash as I was trying to do something and brick my truck

I don't think that would happen if it crashed. It would just not complete the change. Message @Snakebitten and ask him. The biggest thing is to back up the file before making any changes. I did it one change at a time. Tested it out. Then did another. Lots of good people on here that would help you out.

A cheap Windows laptop is $200-300.
Walmart or other stores have them.
First thing I did was clean install Windows without all the garbage it came with, then install Forscan and FDRS.

Nothing fancy absolute only thing used for would be FORScan. There like $60

I had been using mine for a few years. So when it was replaced, I went through and deleted all the programs but what I need.

That one is real nice buy I'm trying go avoid spending that much on something I'll prolly use once to do some changes then put up

That's what you say now.... then it is ...well, lets give FDRS a shot. Oh, look, more Forscan changes. You will get the bug and it will not stop.... We all had this happen.
