Different MPG Canada vs US?

Just something I noticed when perusing the '23 MY stickers that have been popping up. The US stickers show 23MPG whereas my Canadian truck says 27. Anyone know what accounts for the difference?

-US gallon vs Imperial Gallon
-Different testing method

You’re right though a Canadian gallon is roughly 20% bigger than a U.S gallon.

Fun fact: We have 3 downs in our football rather than 4. So you get 25% less downs but 20% more gas..

I stand corrected, I had no idea there was such a huge difference in the size of a gallon

Does Canadian fuel have a different percent of ethanol in your fuel (petrol) than USA? If I remember right, we have up to 10%.

10.4 should be 22.6 US mpg. Multiply it by 4.54 litres in a US gal / 3.78 litres in a can gal is 27.1.

I believe NIST has all us (imperial) measurements tied to their metric counterparts, and CA uses metric, so a gallon should be a gallon regardless. The tests are done on a dyno, the only thing different would be the the dyno's test conditions.

Here's mine:

I tend to take it easy on my commute. Which is 68 miles (round trip) of freeway / highway driving with cruise set to 65 on Eco. Doing a little better than the sticker says I should be.

Yours seems very fuel efficient compared to a few of the others posted above.

Same as the U.S. up to 10% ethanol and about 4% less MPG as a result.

@780 It's a powerboost. I didn't say and maybe this thread will get moved because it isn't powerboost specific... Those were the stickers I was comparing and had PB on the brain I guess when I posted in this group.

We are the same 10% in 87.
91 with with 0% is also readily available
