Anyone think this is possible? our finely ground asphalt dust is sticking to my truck in circle patterns like its attracted via opposite polarities . hood areas at bends are the worse
i was wondering if there was a way to degauss the truck to make this stuff repel vice stick in weird random patterns of static electricity

I assume you are thinking based on the dust patterns that your vehicle has acquired a magnetic field, thus you are asking about degaussing.

All the "sheet metal" on the F-150 is aluminum. I don't believe you are seeing "magnetic fields" affecting the dust. Aluminum does not acquire magnetic fields, so it doesn't need (and can't) be degaussed.

Might be better to see if this is a good topic to add to the carwash mode discussion If aluminum and asphalt are not magnetic. 🧼

Its static electricity
went and wiped off again and the micro fiber popped like i walked across carpet in wool socks
which leads me to believe the crazy low humidity 24% is part of the problem

I’d be interested to see the patterns. Seems more like it would be air vortices causing the patterns than any sort of electrical charge.

i will never tell
its windy today so only swirly static rings were on the plastic b pillar trims.
i did find this morning the NYLON screen i have infront of truck, emits tons of static to ME when i rolled it up. so maybe i have found the source. low low humidity and the nylon mesh
